Google Phone Recap
22 August 2007 - 0:44There hasn’t been much news concerning Google’s upcoming device, known by its many names (gPhone, Goophone, Google Phone) but we have been here reporting every little breadcrumb we got. So feel free to go through the articles from the start till now, I am going to do a little recap for everyone who is new to the site.

There was the “Google phone is coming, believe it or not” article where there were two concepts of what a potential gPhone might look like and there was a lot of new news including more vendors that were reported to be in talks with Google.
Then there was the “Google gPhone powered by Linux releasing in Spring of 2008?” article. That’s when we learned that it was quite likely Google’s upcoming Goophone would probably be based on a Linux OS and maybe even a TI “Edge” chipset.
Last in our recap, but far from most recent, there is the “New gPhone Might Include OpenMoko” article where we learned of a rumor of the OpenMoko open source platform making it to the Google Phone. Not so much the Neo1973 hardware, but the open source platform it’s based on.
Since then there have been several other great articles, and there are great articles from the start as well, you’ll just have to read on to find those gems. I just wanted to do a short recap of some major news for all of our new readers. Lastly, if any of you has any credible information on Google’s moves in the wireless market, feel free to hit us up at either email address under the About section or call or fax us.
